Abstract: The reaction parameters for the graft copolymerization were optimized using an effective acrylate monomer onto Hibiscus sabdariffa (Roselle) stem fiber and used to explore the additive effect of secondary monomer on percentage grafting and change in the properties, behavior of the fiber in binary vinyl monomeric mixtures. The graft co-polymers were characterized by advanced techniques and evaluated for changes. With increase in percentage grafting there was increase in thermal resistance but decrease in percentage crystallinity and crystallinity index. However, cellulose form I remained unchanged. These modified graft copolymer procured from renewable waste biomass can have numerous scientific applications

Abstract: The reaction parameters for the graft copolymerization of Ethyl acrylate (EA) onto Hibiscus sabdariffa (Roselle) stem fiber were optimized and used to explore the additive effect of secondary monomer on percentage grafting, change in the properties, behavior of the fiber. The graft co-polymers were characterized by advanced techniques and evaluated for the changes. With increase in percentage grafting there was increase in physico-chemico-thermal resistance, hydrophobicity and miscibility in organic solvents but decrease in percentage crystallinity and crystallinity index. However, cellulose form I remained unchanged. These modified graft copolymer procured from renewable waste biomass can have numerous scientific and industrial applications

Sorrel Fiber as Reinforcement in Bio-composite
Ashish Chauhan,Balbir Kaith
Journal of Environmental Science and Technology , 2012,
Abstract: Sorrel stem fiber is rich in cellulose content and exists in abundance as waste biomass throughout the world. Its low weight and high tensile strength makes it suitable for use as backbone in graft copolymerization to reinforce physico-chemico-thermo-mechanical resistance in the fiber. The paper explores the use of rare binary vinyl monomeric mixture to synthesis, characterize and evaluate the properties of graft copolymers for use as reinforcement in composite. Advanced analytical techniques were used to confirm the transformation in the modified fiber. The improved properties of the fiber and composite as compared to the native form make it an efficient technique for judicious use of renewable resource in scientific and industrial applications.
FRACTALS IMAGE RENDERING AND COMPRESSION USING GPUS
Munesh Singh Chauhan,Ashish Negi
International Journal of Digital Information and Wireless Communications , 2012,
Abstract: Fractal image compression provides immense advantages as compared to conventional image compressions. Though the fractal image encoding time is comparatively quite high as compared to the conventional ones but the decoding time is far less and almost instantaneous. Besides, fractal images are resolution-independent, implying that these images will render the same intensity and quality even when scaled. In other words the number of pixels remains unchanged even while extrapolating the image. In addition to it, the fractal image quality remains un-altered even at low-bit rates thus making it a suitable candidate for offline applications. The present baseline approach for fractal image compression is modified and supported with advanced parallel hardware in the form of Graphical Processor Units from Nvidia Corporation. The GPUs consist of many cores thus providing SIMD parallel processing capability at an un-imaginable rate of around 24 GFLOPS. This processing speed was not possible earlier before the advent of GPUs except in some selected highly evolved supercomputers. The rendering of image and its compression is implemented using OpenCL library. The benefits of faster fractal compression lie in the realm of medical imaging, satellite reconnaissance, gaming & film media.
ACE INHIBITORS: A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW

International Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research , 2013,
Abstract: Hypertension is a chronic increase in blood pressure, characterized as primary and secondary hypertension. The disorder is associated with various risk factors like obesity, diabetes, age, lack of exercise etc. Hypertension is being treated since ancient times by Ayurvedic, Chinese and Unani medicine. Now various allopathic drugs are available which include diuretics, calcium channel blockers, α-blockers, β-blockers, vasodilators, central sympatholytics and ACE-inhibitors. Non-pharmacological treatments include weight reduction, dietary sodium reduction, increased potassium intake and reduction in alcohol consumption. ACE-inhibitors are widely used in the treatment of hypertension by inhibiting the angiotensin converting enzyme responsible for the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II (responsible for vasoconstriction). Various structure activity relationship studies led to the synthesis of ACE-inhibitors, some are under clinical development. This comprehensive review gives various guidelines on classification of hypertension, hypertension therapy including ancient, pharmacological, non-pharmacological therapies, pharmacoeconomics, historical perspectives of ACE, renin, renin angiotensin system (circulating vs local RAS), mechanism of ACE inhibitors, and development of ACE inhibitors. Review also emphasizes on the recent advancements on ACE inhibitors including drugs in clinical trials, computational studies on ACE-inhibitors, peptidomimetics, dual, natural, multi-functional ACE inhibitors, and conformational requirements for ACE-inhibitors.

Abstract: Mental illness constitutes the second-largest disease burden in the United States. Psychosis is one of the most common and severe mental illnesses. It is an extremely devastating condition characterised by delusions, hallucinations, distortion of thoughts and deteriorating social functioning experiences. Psychosis in all human societies has approximately same incidence of occurrence as in accordance to “anthropo-parity principle.” It has large economic impact on various aspects of cognition, health, and quality of life which has devastated effects on its sufferers and facing them large economic burden. Psychosis (Schizophrenia) is associated with an imbalance of the dopaminergic system, entailing hyper-stimulation of dopamine function in the brain, particularly in the mesolimbic pathway. Consequences of antipsychotic treatment are far reaching and expensive. Detrimental extrapyramidal side effects associated with conventional antipsychotics and non-compliance among patients limits long term treatment with conventional antipsychotics. It gives rise to a new class, atypical antipsychotics owning low propensity to cause EPS, efficacy against refractory cases and better control over negative symptoms, better tolerance and compliance along with lower relapse rate and safer adverse effect profile. Atypical antipsychotics have revolutionized the treatment of psychosis, now being the treatment of choice for patients with psychosis. The positive therapeutic experience with the atypical antipsychotics in the treatment of psychosis and their favourable effects outweighs their unfavourable adverse effects. Though atypical antipsychotics are widely prescribed in the treatment of schizophrenia, however not a single atypical antipsychotic drug having any exceptional efficacy and safety profile. Thus, there is still a lot of research needed to be carried out in the development of novel atypical antipsychotics. This review is comprehensive appraisal about history and development, epidemiology, etiology of psychosis along with treatment with antipsychotics (especially on atypical antipsychotics), their global market, pharmaco-economics, mechanism of action and recent advancements in atypical antipsychotic medications, antipsychotic drugs which are currently under clinical development along with Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, Chinese, Unani treatment for psychosis.

International Journal of Intelligent Systems and Applications , 2012,
Abstract: Software cost estimation is an important phase in software development. It predicts the amount of effort and development time required to build a software system. It is one of the most critical tasks and an accurate estimate provides a strong base to the development procedure. In this paper, the most widely used software cost estimation model, the Constructive Cost Model (COCOMO) is discussed. The model is implemented with the help of artificial neural networks and trained using the perceptron learning algorithm. The COCOMO dataset is used to train and to test the network. The test results from the trained neural network are compared with that of the COCOMO model. The aim of our research is to enhance the estimation accuracy of the COCOMO model by introducing the artificial neural networks to it.

Computer Science , 2014,
Abstract: The generation of fractals and study of the dynamics of polynomials is one of the emerging and interesting field of research nowadays. We introduce in this paper the dynamics of polynomials z^ n - z + c = 0 for n>=2 and applied Jungck Ishikawa Iteration to generate new Relative Superior Mandelbrot sets and Relative Superior Julia sets. In order to solve this function by Jungck type iterative schemes, we write it in the form of Sz = Tz, where the function T, S are defined as Tz = z^ n + c and Sz = z. Only mathematical explanations are derived by applying Jungck Ishikawa Iteration for polynomials in the literature but in this paper we have generated Relative Mandelbrot sets and Relative Julia sets.
